Materials needed:
- A camera with ability to have manual settings “M”. All DSLRs will have this option 
- For cell phone photography, please download Snapseed (free) 
- Access to Google Drive (where I’ll share files and course material), Zoom/Skype 
- Recommended: Adobe Lightroom ($10/month) for organizing photos + post-processing. This is needed for Class #3 
Class #2 (late July)
- 2.5 - 3 hours, outside in-person in some hike/park 
- Parents are welcome for free! 
- Objectives - Guided photoshoot outing 
- Hands-on application of concepts from Class #1 
- Training the inner Photographer’s Eye 
- Translating an Interest into photographic narrative 
- Curating assignments for Class #3 
 
Class #4 (late August/early September)
- 2-3 hours, online or in-person 
- I’m open to cater to your interests, after the crash course above. Here’s some suggestions. 
- Another guided outdoor photoshoot - Focus on Nature, People, Pets, or Night Photography 
 
- Retouching master class - Everybody sends their best shots to each other to retouch, and then we compare the different editing styles. 
 
- Portraiture focus - How to direct people while photographing them 
 
- Black/White Photography

- Objectives - Camera basics 101 - Understanding basics about aperture, shutter speed, ISO, manual focus, white balance 
 
- What makes a good photograph? - How to focus the interest in a photo 
- Composition rules (golden ratio, leading lines, etc.) 
- Color balance composition 
 
- Types of Light - How different lighting in the day affects mood 
 
- Seeing the world as a photographer 101 - Find projects that are personal and resonate 
 
 
Class #3 (mid-late August)
- 2.5 hours, online or in-person 
- Objectives - We’ll review each other’s portfolio since Class #2 
- Retouching 101 - Cropping, color balance, exposure
